How to Plan Your Content Calendar in your Define Planner
Overwhelmed with Content Creation? Let’s Plan It Together — Step by Step
Have you ever felt completely overwhelmed trying to stay consistent with content? You’re not alone — and this blog post is for you.
We're walking you through exactly how to plan your content using your Define Planner in a way that’s realistic, aligned, and motivating. Whether you’re building a personal brand, growing a business, or simply trying to show up online with purpose, this method is designed to support your content journey from start to finish.
Start with Monthly Goals
Open your monthly calendar and begin by setting your goals for the month. Since we’re focusing on content, this month’s pathway focus will be career. Then, turn to your Umbrella Goal Planning Page and decide which long-term goal to focus on. In this example, we’ll use:
Umbrella Goal: Post consistently to expose your brand.
Consistency is often the hardest part — so start realistically. Many people set expectations that are just too high to sustain. Instead, assess your current posting habits. Ask yourself:
-
Is this working?
-
Do I feel proud of the content I’m creating?
-
Am I meeting my goals — or feeling frustrated by the end of each week?
If you’re just getting started, a great monthly action item is:
Post 12 videos per week.
This becomes your goal to work toward all month long.
Define Your Content Pillars
Next, it’s time to break down your content into categories, or pillars. In your planner’s Notes section, create a color-coded system to help track what types of videos you’re posting.
Example Pillars:
🟦 Educational
🟩 Entertainment
🟨 Promotional
🟥 Conversational
This system allows you to stay balanced in the content you’re putting out — ensuring your brand voice feels dynamic and well-rounded.
Build Your Idea Bank
One of the biggest blocks to consistency? Not knowing what to post.
Keep a running list of content ideas in your Notes pages — this becomes your idea bank. The next time you sit down to plan, you’ll already have a pool of concepts to pull from.
When you’re ready, use your monthly calendar to schedule the type of content you want to post each day. Don’t feel pressured to plan the whole month in advance — start with one or two weeks and build from there. And remember: inspiration can strike at any time. If you feel called to post something off-schedule, do it. Your plan is here to support your consistency — not limit your creativity.
Weekly Content Example: One Week of Planning
Let’s plan just one week of content together, based on our pillars and posting goal of 2 videos per day (except Wednesday, which we’ll reserve for content creation).

Break It Down in the Weekly View
Now that your monthly view is mapped out, move into your weekly pages in the Define Planner.
-
Weekly Pathway Focus: Career
-
Weekly Action Item: Post 12 videos this week
-
Daily Goal: 2 videos per day (except Wednesday)
Use your Projects box to color-code your pillars again — keeping your content strategy organized at a glance.
Don’t forget to add a weekly affirmation. Something like:
“My content has value, and I’m showing up with purpose.”
Affirmations are powerful in shifting your mindset — especially when self-doubt creeps in.
